Dan Sultan finds a new creative spark on Little Miracles

Dan Sultan 2026

Australian singer-songwriter Dan Sultan has released his deeply personal new album, Little Miracles, a collection of blues, soul, rock and heartfelt storytelling written and recorded in London with acclaimed British songwriter and producer Guy Chambers.

Sometimes the most meaningful creative breakthroughs happen when there's little time to overthink them. For Dan Sultan, that was certainly the case with Little Miracles, an album that came together in less than three weeks and has left the celebrated Australian musician feeling more connected to his artistry than ever.

Released on 23 October, the record marks a significant chapter in Sultan's career, bringing together his unmistakable voice, emotional songwriting and a musical partnership that developed with remarkable ease.

Written and recorded in London alongside Guy Chambers, whose extensive credits include Robbie Williams, Tina Turner and Kylie Minogue, Little Miracles emerged from an unusually concentrated period of collaboration.

Rather than spending months refining ideas, Sultan immersed himself in the recording process, embracing the uncertainty and spontaneity that came with creating an entire album in such a short time.

The result is a collection that moves comfortably between blues, soul, R&B and rock, while placing some of Sultan's most personal songwriting at its centre.

Among its highlights are ‘There's a River’, ‘Needing Love’, ‘Forgiveness’ and ‘Atlas’, alongside the newly released ‘Can't Be For Nothing’.

Each offers a different glimpse into the emotional landscape of the album, with Sultan exploring vulnerability, connection and the experiences that continue to shape his life. For Chambers, the collaboration revealed a rare creative understanding between two songwriters.

'I found a co-writer who is pretty much on my level. I don't often find someone who I really click and connect with, that doesn't happen very often', Chambers says. 'To really meet someone who I could write with on my level, who I could really be myself around and write really emotional songs with.'

That connection became central to the album's creation, allowing Sultan to approach his music with a renewed sense of confidence and freedom.

Reflecting on the experience, Sultan describes *Little Miracles* as a defining moment in his artistic journey.

'The way the stars aligned for my collaborators and I on this beautiful album is something I'll always cherish', he says. 'It is lightning in a bottle and I've made my greatest work to date. Finding new heights in my creativity and artistry is a blessing.'

The singer-songwriter also credits his relationship with Chambers for helping him reach a new level of creative expression.

'The connection between my dear friend, cowriter and producer Guy Chambers and I is something very special and Little Miracles is a watershed moment in my life.'

It's a significant statement from an artist whose career has already delivered some of Australia's most celebrated contemporary music.

Across albums including Get Out While You Can (2009), Blackbird (2014), Nali & Friends (2019) and his self-titled 2023 release, Sultan has earned seven ARIA Awards and established himself as one of the country's most distinctive performers. His career has taken him from intimate venues to major international stages, with performances alongside Bruce Springsteen, Midnight Oil and Vance Joy, as well as collaborations with the Melbourne, Darwin and Australian Symphony Orchestras.

International appearances have included New York's Central Park, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, while more recent highlights include performing at the Paris Paralympics Athletes Village and appearing on British television program *The Last Leg*.

Despite that extensive history, Little Miracles finds Sultan continuing to discover new possibilities within his music.

The album has already attracted strong critical attention, with The Australian awarding it five stars and praising its blend of blues, soul, R&B and rock. To celebrate the release, Sultan is performing a series of intimate, stripped-back Victorian shows, giving audiences the opportunity to experience his new material in a more personal setting.

The run begins at Archies Creek Hotel on 23 October, followed by Her Majesty's Theatre in Ballarat on 24 October and the newly opened Church venue in Geelong on 25 October. All three performances have sold out.

An additional Melbourne performance at The Evelyn in Fitzroy has also been announced, with further details available through the official ticket link.

For Sultan, Little Miracles represents more than another album release. It's the product of an unexpected creative partnership, a willingness to trust the process and the discovery that even after years of success, there are still new musical heights to reach.

And with a voice as powerful as ever, Sultan has found fresh ways to tell his stories.
