Howard has worked in Australian media for 35 years: two at Queensland Newspapers, and 33 running his own independent titles in print and online. His masthead scenestr runs a separate edition in each of the five major states — the only national network of its kind built by an independent publisher. His team also publishes the national LGBTQ title, FROOTY.
