Chase Matthew stays true to his roots with ‘Started From The Holler’

Chase Matthew 2026

Nashville country artist Chase Matthew is celebrating where it all began with his new single ‘Started From The Holler’, arriving as his collaboration with Lauren Alaina reaches the Top 5 at country radio.

Chase Matthew might be playing bigger stages and reaching new audiences, but the Nashville singer-songwriter hasn't forgotten the backroads, friendships and experiences that shaped him. His latest single, ‘Started From The Holler’, released on 9 October through Warner Records Nashville, is a spirited celebration of his upbringing and a reminder that success doesn't have to mean leaving your old life behind.

Built around the attitude and rural imagery that have become familiar parts of his music, the song reflects on the people and places that mattered long before his career began gathering momentum. It's a fitting message from an artist whose journey into country music was anything but conventional.

Before the record deals, radio success and major tours, Matthew was working as a mechanic while recording songs in his bedroom with a basic microphone and a second-hand laptop. His early recordings found an audience online, with the 2021 release of ‘County Line’ proving a turning point. The song gained significant traction through social media and streaming, eventually earning platinum certification in the United States.

That independent success helped pave the way for his debut album, Born for This, in 2022, followed by a deal with Warner Records Nashville later that year. His major-label album Come Get Your Memory arrived in 2023, introducing a broader audience to his blend of contemporary country, rock influences and rough-edged storytelling.

The following year brought another milestone when ‘Love You Again’ reached the Top 5 at country radio, establishing Matthew as an artist capable of turning his growing online following into mainstream success. His momentum continued with the EPs We All Grow Up and Always Be Mine, before the release of his 2025 album Chase.

Across those projects, Matthew has developed a sound that brings together country storytelling, rock energy and modern production, often drawing inspiration from small-town life, relationships and the experiences of his own upbringing. That background makes ‘Started From The Holler’ feel like a natural addition to his catalogue.

Rather than presenting success as an escape from his past, Matthew celebrates the identity he's carried with him, from driving backroads to staying close to the people who knew him before the spotlight. The release also arrives during a particularly strong period at country radio. His duet with Lauren Alaina, ‘All My Exes’, has climbed into the Top 5, while his current single ‘Holdin’ It Down’ has entered the Top 25.

The collaboration with Alaina continues a musical partnership that previously saw the pair team up on ‘Heart Half Empty’ from Matthew's 2025 album Chase. Away from the studio, Matthew has been building his reputation as a live performer, sharing stages with some of country music's biggest names. Fresh from supporting Jason Aldean on the *Songs About Us Tour*, he recently marked the end of the run with an unusual gift for the country superstar: a 1968 Pontiac LeMans inspired by the lyrics of Aldean's ‘My Kinda Party’.

Matthew had spent time personalising the classic car while on the road, adding another chapter to a friendship formed through touring.

He's now back out on his own headline Holdin’ It Down Tour, with another appearance alongside Aldean scheduled for December in Las Vegas, where he'll support the final stop of Aldean and Luke Bryan's Double Down Tour.

For Matthew, the past few years have brought a remarkable shift from independent musician to an established presence on the country charts. But with ‘Started From The Holler’, he's making it clear that the things that shaped him remain just as important as the opportunities ahead.

‘Started From The Holler’ is available now through Warner Records Nashville.
