Yours, Georgina navigates the complexities of love on ‘Holiday’

Yours, Georgina 2026

Melbourne folk-rock artist Yours, Georgina has released ‘Holiday’, an emotionally charged new single exploring the intensity and uncertainty of relationships, offering another glimpse into her forthcoming debut album, Destination Fever.

Love can be exhilarating, unpredictable and sometimes overwhelming. It's this complicated mix of emotions that Melbourne singer-songwriter Georgie Currie, performing as Yours, Georgina, explores on her latest single, ‘Holiday’.

Drawing on the tension between the excitement of an all-consuming relationship and the uncertainty of whether it can last, the track reflects Currie's talent for turning personal experiences into compelling stories.

'I wrote this song as an allegory for the havoc we can wreak in the name of love, and for the quiet voice wondering, deep in the recesses of our mind, if a relationship thrilling and addictive and all-consuming is meant to last', she explains. The song developed gradually over several months, with Currie repeatedly returning to the writing as its meaning became clearer.

'This song was one I picked up and put down, again and again, over many months. It gradually evolved into a grander narrative that embodied the insecurity and anxiety I was feeling at the time', she says. 'I personally love songs that take creative license with details, so long as the writer remains faithful to the human experience and emotions at the heart of the work. I think this is what I was striving to achieve with “Holiday”.'

Recorded at Rolling Stock Studios in Melbourne, on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country, ‘Holiday’ was brought to life with engineer Andrew Robinson, whose credits include The Teskey Brothers and Midnight Oil.

The track reflects Currie's evolving musical direction, combining the intimacy of her folk influences with the fuller sound of her folk-rock project. Raised in Albury on Wiradjuri Country, Currie grew up listening to artists including Bernard Fanning, Dolores O'Riordan and David Gray, whose distinctive voices and storytelling helped shape her musical interests.

She began her performing career with The Northern Folk, a ten-piece ensemble that toured throughout eastern Australia and released three studio albums.

In 2021, Currie launched her solo project under the name Yours, Georgina, creating an outlet for the candid songwriting that has become central to her music. Her 2024 EP, Noonlight, explored perspective and the way experiences can take on different meanings over time. The six-track release attracted radio support and led to performances alongside The Maes and Emily Barker.

Earlier in 2026, she introduced her forthcoming album with ‘Keepers’, a song about longing for home that received attention from triple j, ABC Country and community radio stations. The follow-up single, ‘Dazzling’, attracted more than 10,000 streams in its first month, adding to a catalogue that has now accumulated more than 150,000 streams across digital platforms.

Currie has also developed a reputation as a compelling live performer, appearing as a headline artist and supporting musicians including Benjamin Stewart of Slowly Slowly and The Maes.

Accompanying ‘Holiday’ is a performance video directed by Ben Dickens, offering another perspective on the song. As Currie prepares to release her first full-length collection under the Yours, Georgina name, ‘Holiday’ reveals an artist increasingly confident in exploring complicated emotions through her songwriting.

With its thoughtful lyrics and personal perspective, the single offers a promising indication of the musical direction she is taking on Destination Fever.

‘Holiday’ is available now on streaming platforms. Destination Fever will be independently released on 27 November 2026.
